Nigel provides an
entertaining evening of musical rarities on the Club's Steinway
on Saturday
21st April
at 7.30 p.m.
Holy Trinity Church, Hinckley
Following the last season's concert "Found in the Attic", this concert maintains the tradition set many years ago when some notable British Musicians like David Munrow, (the 1st President), Gerald Moore and Dennis Matthews as well as Hinckley's own Anne Collis, came to the Club to provide Lecture Recitals and concerts. Nigel went to the very first concerts of Hinckley Music Club and helped raise funds for the piano when a teenager. Although now more known for his work in the field of Organ, he started his musical life as a pianist. This indeed is another rare opportunity for Hinckley to hear a performer, pedagogue and musicologist who has been hailed as "one of the greatest musical figures of our time".
This evening is a gala fund-raising event. In this present economic climate the work of the Club needs to be assured so that for many years to come it will always be able to provide platforms for the burgeoning young artists in our world as well as the established performers
