The Marjorie King Recital
Di Xiao began her musical studies at the age of four, winning numerous prizes and competitions at an early age, including Most Outstanding Young Musician of Guangdong Province award in 1996.
Her academic studies continued at the Guangzhou Conservatory, the Odessa Conservatoire and, later, at the Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing, from which she graduated with one of the highest marks in the history of the Conservatory. She has appeared at the Beijing Concert Hall and before the Malaysian Royal Family in Penang.
In 2004 she was awarded a full scholarship by the Birmingham Conservatoire which enabled her to travel to England to continue her studies. Following graduation with distinction in 2006, Di Xiao has won the Birmingham Conservatoire Piano Prize, the Symphony Hall Prize and the Brant International Piano competition. She has travelled extensively and recitals in Athens, Barcelona, Hamburg, Luxembourg and Amsterdam were broadcast on national radio.
